Let's play catch-up!
I've realized that I'm a terrible blogger. I start and stop. And then start and stop again. Who knows how long I'll keep it up this time!
So where were we. Looking back, my last "life" update I was just starting graduate school. Let's talk about that, shall we? Well, since that post, I am now much closer to graduation. I have four classes left... that went fast! 3 regular classes and my practicum. I'm not entirely sure when I'll be done completely, as I have to fit my classes in as my tuition reimbursement allows. Within the next year, I'd say. I've also taken a new job! I'm now working as a nurse educator. Love it, love my team! I'm thinking about what's next after I finish my MSN. I've looked in to a few DNP programs, and I'm not entirely convinced yet. I think I'll take a little time off before starting another program, we'll have to see.
Tyler is now five. Yeah, you read that right - FIVE. He is going to Young Fives this year and is absolutely loving it. Chris and I are working on our application for kindergarten next year. Time flies!
One of our big projects this past year has been updating our house a bit. We built a barn out back, and updated the kitchen and downstairs bathroom. A few other necessary repairs/upgrades as well, and we are happy in our house. We thought about moving, but decided that we are in love with our neighborhood, town, and house - and the money we'd lose if we sold was enough to make you sick! In a home sale, the seller definitely gets the raw deal.
Well, that's about all I have to say for now. Thanks for stopping by!

Fun jobs for a five-year-old boy (that help Mom, too!)
We've tried to give Tyler little jobs (I hate calling them chores) around the house for quite awhile, but I've found that five is really a great age to add some more. Here's what he's been doing:
1. Putting away the silverware from the dishwasher:
1. Putting away the silverware from the dishwasher:
And lucky for me, this is a job that Tyler likes!
2. Making his bed. Tyler really does a pretty good job at smoothing his covers.
3. Picking up his Legos. Tyler looooves to play Legos, especially in the living room while watching TV. Chris and I let him as long as he picks them up.
4. Brushing his teeth - he usually needs an inspection afterwards, but overall does great!
5. Helping Mom carry in groceries from the car
6. He loves to "help" with laundry, as in - throwing dirty clothes in the washer :)
etc. etc.! What jobs do you give your kiddos?
